World In a Cup

Last December (2008) I went to Jenggala (Ceramic Shop) with my fiancee and I painted a Cup there (she paint some kind of jewelry box), i was late that day, i arrived there about 3.oo pm, so i only had about 1.5 hours to paint the cup.
The concept is 'World in a Cup'. A circle when we are in. Very close circle of ours. World in a cup is my concept for small world of ours. I'm quite poor on drawing, so you can see the result hahaha, but i love it ! Hope you can enjoy it also.

Before I was jealous if someone has a lot of friends (some I think are too many, why they didn't introduce me some.... hahaha) I was self pity that i can not make friends with people. But it's only a story now.

I think i have to say 'thank you very much' to some people i knew in my university years, they are kind of easy going persons, I was trying very hard to be accepted with people back then but I found out, just be myself and i don't have to push myself too hard to be accepted by everyone, I just realize that before I was too greedy, I don't want a cup, I want a giant bowl, I wanted to be accepted by everyone which is impossible (even Obama has some people who can not accept him!) So I started to be graceful with what I already had. And I got more friends and easily to communicate with human beings after that. Such a revelation for me. hehehehe

Until now, still, I'm not a person with a lot of friends but I have had some small cups of mine.
I have my colleagues friends, i have my gaming friends, I have my old old friends, people from work, etc. And sometime in a live the cup is collide each other. And I like when my friends from other groups meet with others.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival. (C. S. Lewis)

So have you keep some cups of yours?

  1. i dont think it matters whether you're good at drawing or not, the fact that this cup is the only one of its kind in the world makes it special. I used to do clay modelling back in Australia, so i can very easily relate to the joy you feel ;) wish we had these in Jogja

u should ask a psychologist about the meaning of your 'world in a cup'...
